How to Include Your Furry Friend at Your Wedding

You invite all of your closest loved ones to be there for your big wedding day, so it's only fair that you would include your furry friends too! After all, they're part of our families, too. That said, some pets may be tough to bring to your wedding, and some can be a handful to keep an eye on! But if you can swing it, it's so worth it! Check out these adorable pets below that found a way to take part in the big celebration!

1. Include your pet in a special photo shoot

This is one of the easiest and most common ways to include your pets in your wedding celebrations, and it creates a keepsake that you can cherish forever! This is a great option for pets that would otherwise not be able to attend your wedding.

2. Give them an official role in the ceremony

For those well-behaved pups and pets, why not let them participate in an official manor? There are so many adorable accessories out there to dress up your pet, it's hard to say no! Plus, each of these items below are handmade by lovely Etsy sellers!

3. Dress them up and bring them along!

If giving your pet an official role in the ceremony is too much for you, you could at least dress them up in something fancy or flowery and let them hang out! Designate a family member or friend to be the person in charge of taking care of them. Be careful, though! They may end up looking so cute, they steal away the spotlight!

4. Host your wedding at an animal friendly venue

If you're the outdoorsy type, or if you're planning a wedding with some southern charm, a farm or barn wedding is a great option that could include animals at the venue! Include a petting zoo for the kids, or dress up a few animals for photos.

5. Bring a custom made accessory or photo for those that can't be there

At the end of the day, it may be best for both you and your furry friend to just leave them at home. But that doesn't mean they can't have a presence at your wedding! These accessories can be custom made so you can feel good knowing your pets are with you in spirit (and on top of your cake!)

6. Bonus! Don't own pets? Rent some to come along!

Okay, I realize this is a little out there, but I just had to include these amazing Llamas in this post! And yes, this is really real. These beloved therapy llamas are from my city of Portland, Oregon, and are actually available to "rent" as guests for weddings and other events in the area! How amazing is that!?
